GeFei Li was born and raised in China. He covers the Country’s macroeconomic development and energy market for the Group. He has over 30 years of experience as an investor and strategic advisor, working with policymakers, regulators, and major energy companies in the country.

From 2003 to 2019, GeFei and his partners capitalized on China’s economic reform and made a number of direct investments in China’s traditional energy and renewable industry. Their portfolio ranged from crude oil storage and power plant emissions removal to solar, biofuel, battery storage, and robotics technologies. This transformative journey gave GeFei the unique ability to assess investment decisions in a multidimensional and dynamic fashion. It also equipped him with the ability to see through the entire investment life cycle and provide clients with multi-dimensional and forward-looking insight.

As the global economic and geopolitical landscape undergoes tectonic transformation, GeFei and his team on the ground have been increasingly integrating Rapidan’s energy policy and geopolitical risk assessment into their China market insight. Such insight has enabled investors to minimize their investment risk and optimize their investments to benefit from the world’s second-largest economy despite all the upheavals.

GeFei received his engineering degree from China’s Petroleum University and his MBA from Wake Forest University in the United States.
